ACAMS Board Certification is a professional credential awarded to qualified medical practitioners as a form of academic and professional recognition. It is based on education, training, and competency assessment aligned with ACAMS education standards and accredited frameworks.

Board Certification by ACAMS does not represent medical licensure or statutory authority.

Board Certification is granted following a structured evaluation process:

1. Eligibility Review

3. Competency Evaluation

Assessment of professional knowledge, clinical understanding, and procedural competency.

4. Certification Decision

Award of ACAMS Board Certification as professional recognition, with defined validity.

Scope of Recognition

ACAMS Board Certification:

  • Recognizes professional competency and educational achievement

  • Supports professional credibility within education and training environments

  • May be used as a professional credential subject to local laws and ethical guidelines

It does not:

  • Grant medical licensure

  • Authorize independent clinical practice

  • Replace national or regional regulatory requirements

Validity & Renewal
