Refund Policy

Fees, Payments & Cancellations

The American Council of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery (ACAMS) maintains a transparent and fair refund policy in relation to its services, applications, and fees.

1. General Policy

All fees paid to ACAMS are generally non-refundable, unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.

Fees are charged for:

  • Administrative processing

  • Evaluation and review

  • Committee assessments

  • Documentation and credential verification

Submission of an application does not guarantee approval, accreditation, certification, or rating.
 

2. Non-Refundable Fees

The following are non-refundable:

  • Accreditation application fees

  • Board certification application fees

  • Evaluation, review, or assessment fees

  • Institutional rating and benchmarking fees

  • Renewal and revalidation fees

Once processing has commenced, no refund shall be issued.
 

3. Limited Refund Eligibility

Refunds may be considered only if:

  • ACAMS is unable to process the application due to internal administrative reasons

  • A written cancellation request is submitted before evaluation or review begins

Any approved refund:

  • Is subject to administrative deductions

  • Will be processed through the original payment method where possible
     

4. No Refund Situations

Refunds will not be issued for:

  • Rejection or non-approval of applications

  • Failure to meet eligibility criteria

  • Voluntary withdrawal after processing begins

  • Misrepresentation or submission of incorrect information

  • Failure to submit required documents on time

  • Disciplinary action, suspension, or revocation
     

5. Event, Training & Program Fees (If Applicable)

For ACAMS-organized events or programs:

  • Refund terms will be clearly stated in the event-specific policy

  • In absence of a stated policy, fees are non-refundable
     

6. Payment Disputes & Chargebacks

Unauthorized chargebacks or payment disputes may result in:

  • Immediate suspension of applications or credentials

  • Permanent ineligibility for future ACAMS services
     

7. Processing Time

Approved refunds (if any) may take 15–30 business days, depending on banking and payment channels.
 

8. Policy Amendments

ACAMS reserves the right to amend this Refund Policy at any time.
The policy applicable at the time of payment shall prevail.
